Our History
Hotel Orient Crown has a long and storied history that dates back to 1927, when the founder of the Waman Group, late Mr. Waman Dhondu Bagalkar, started Waman Bhojanalaya in Mumbai. The restaurant quickly gained a reputation for serving the finest Malwani sea-food, and soon became a popular destination for foodies from all over the city. In 1951, Mr. Bagalkar expanded his operations by starting Wamanashram at Malwan Port, which became a hub for import and export trade. In 1962-1963, he shifted his focus to Kolhapur, where he started Waman Guest House which he personally managed until 1970.
